Dear Friend of the Environment:

Please join Alec Baldwin, the Pine Barrens Society, Group for the East End and the Southampton Water Protection Alliance for a News Conference & Rally in support of review of the proposed “Hills” mega golf resort, by the New York State Central Pine Barrens Commission.   Mr. Baldwin is active in land preservation and water quality protection across Long Island.  He lives in East Hampton.

The Pine Barrens Commission has jurisdiction over all development in the Pine Barrens.  “The Hills” is seeking to develop the project under Southampton’s Planned Development District ordinance which we oppose.  You may speak in support of the Commission’s review or against “The Hills.”  Or, you can simply show your support for a proper review of the proposal by appearing at the event.

Please attend.  This is a compelling way to insist on a proper review of this project.  Nearby Shinnecock Bay is already experiencing a Brown Tide, caused by nitrogen contamination, which “The Hills” project would only make worse and more frequent.  And let’s not forget Weesuck Creek!!

Please bring family and friends to Dark Horse Restaurant, One East Main Street, Riverhead, on Wednesday, July 20th at noon!  See you then.
