Press Conference on The Hills

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
There is a very important press conference being held by Dr. Chris Gobler on Monday, August 28th, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. at the Southampton Marine Science Center on Little Neck Road in Shinnecock Hills. This is directly across from Southampton College on the south side of Montauk Highway.
Dr. Gobler will be giving his long-awaited assessment of Discovery Lands Final Environmental Impact Statement for The Hills. We need to attend and point out that in addition to the nitrogen impact of this project there are other environmental factors that have not been mitigated, including pesticides, traffic, airport noise etc.
Once again, I need your help. Please attend if you can and bring a friend.

Al Algieri,
President for the Civic Association Board.

EQ Repaving Schedule

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

In response to many people’s inquiries on when Montauk Highway in East Quogue will be be paved, here is the sequence:

  • Trees on Montauk Highway have to be trimmed first (completed)
  • Installation of water drains starting on the eastern end and going west  (presently in progress)
  • Sidewalks completely replaced on both sides of highway
  • Pavement of road (last to be done)

This will take a while and, unfortunately, will disrupt business downtown, but  when we see the result, I think we will all love it.
A great school, a great hamlet park, and a downtown to match!

Best regards,
Al Algieri, for the East Quogue Civic Association Board
